Midwife Wafaa Zobta shares her experience of nearly 25 years across several Syrian governorates, where she has been a pillar of strength for women in their most critical moments.
In one particularly difficult situation, Wafaa saved the life of her friend, who was 30 weeks pregnant and suffering from pregnancy-induced hypertension.

“My friend and her baby were in serious danger and needed immediate hospital care. I noticed unusual symptoms, stepped in with my expertise, and provided essential first aid until she delivered safely.”

Through her work at the Charitable Circassian Association Clinic in Rural Damascus, Wafaa provides reproductive health services to women and girls, raising awareness on common gynecological conditions, family planning, and safe contraception methods.
