The recent rising hostilities in Lebanon have led to a major increase in people seeking safety in Syria. As of October 2024, around 460,000 individuals, including Syrians and Lebanese, have arrived.

"Displaced women and children are facing serious health and safety challenges. Crowded shelters and tough living conditions make it harder for them to access crucial reproductive health services and leave them more vulnerable to gender-based violence.

"In Syria, The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and its partners are supporting those on challenging journeys to safety. Mobile teams are on the ground, providing health and psychosocial services, distributing hygine kits , and emergency health care to ensure families receive compassionate help as soon as they arrive."

"Maryam, 23, recalls fleeing violence in Lebanon: 'Hygiene supplies, especially sanitary pads, were essential."
